Blackburn Rovers appear set to miss out on the signing of David Brekalo from Viking as Orlando City are now closing in on a deal.
That’s according to journalist Arilas Ould-Saada, who reports that Viking have now accepted a bid from the MLS side and the transfer saga around the 25-year-old will be coming to an end.
He explains that Viking and Orlando City are in final negotiations over the defender for a fee of 32.5 million Norwegian Krone, which is around £2.45m.
Brekalo was in a meeting with the Viking management today where he was told that his transfer wish will be granted and only the final details on the transfer remained to be sorted.
They’ve since accepted the bid from Orlando City after it was made clear that Blackburn wouldn’t have the ability to offer a permanent transfer to the player. Why that is the case isn’t clear but either way, that’s pushed the player towards Orlando.
Viking are seemingly happy with that as they’ve managed to secure a little extra in final negotiations for the player and been able to bring this transfer saga to an end.
Whether Blackburn look elsewhere before the window shuts this evening remains to be seen but Brekalo won’t be arriving either way.
