Over the past few days, Arsenal have been named as one of the contenders to sign Rosenborg BK’s Sverre Nypan in the winter market.
The 18-year-old’s potential and profile has seen several clubs show interest in securing his services, and it’s clear he’s being shopped around.
Friday’s edition of Sport covers Girona interest, with Arsenal getting a mention.
Manchester City are said to be interested, and their initial plan was to sign him and send him on loan to sister club Girona.
Sport state UEFA’s regulations [they don’t explain in detail] stop the Citizens and Girona from doing business. Therefore, the former can’t sign him in this window and Girona have to negotiate on their own for the midfielder.
Girona’s ‘big problem’ is the competition from Arsenal. The report states the Gunners are keen and have presented their project, which has also been reported elsewhere.
According to Sport, Rosenborg are requesting at least €10m for their young talent. As well as Arsenal, Aston Villa are in the picture to sign him.
Over at AS, they also state the Norwegian club are asking for €10m.
AS only mention the Spanish club but state several Premier League sides are willing to meet Rosenborg’s demand.
