Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin has admitted he’s read rumours about a move to Manchester City but knows nothing about it beyond that.

Sport.ua cover comments from the Benfica goalkeeper today in which he’s asked about those Manchester City rumours.

The 23-year-old has been enjoying a strong season with the Portuguese side, with 20 goals conceded in 23 games and 10 clean sheets to his name so far.

He’s also managed four clean sheets in the Champions League in 12 games and 19 goals conceded, numbers that have earned him plenty of admirers.

Manchester City are believed to be one of them, with several reports indicating that they could make major changes in their goalkeeping department this summer.

Ederson has continually been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia while Stefan Ortega has not stepped into to replace the Brazilian as expected this season when called upon.

That’s led to suggestions they’ll target a younger player for the future as part of the major rebuild that they already started in January, something which has seen Trubin linked. He’s seen those rumours but knows nothing beyond what’s been written.

“I don’t know, I saw it on the Internet just like you,” he said.

“Right now, I’m completely focused on the national team, then on Benfica. Because there’s an important stretch of championships and cups ahead, and everything else needs to be postponed for later.”
