Despite initial Gazzetta dello Sport claims on Wednesday morning that Manchester United had rejected the latest offer from Inter for Romelu Lukaku, believed to be at €70m + €4m, things have since developed.
The same outlet are now claiming morning talks between the two sides have been ‘productive’ after the Premier League side ‘sent signs of strong openness’ about getting a deal done.
Inter already have an agreement with the player himself, meaning that side of the talks doesn’t need to happen, and once Manchester United and the Serie A club reach an agreement, he will just need to sign on the dotted line.
Lukaku has been in Belgium the past couple of days, training with Anderlecht, but a recent claim from Corriere dello Sport explained he could be on his way back to England on Wednesday to take part in these talks.
It seems his presence might not be needed after all.
