Portuguese side Sporting have rejected a new bid from Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Bruno Fernandes, the local press says.

Website Mais Futebol claims that the player’s agent Miguel Pinho has been at Estádio de Alvalade this morning to present a new bid to club president Frederico Varandas.

But this offer was once again €60m, including bonuses, and that’s why it was rejected by the Lisbon side one more time.

Mais Futebol says this is the reason the meeting was ‘very short’, as Varandas continues to demand €70m for the transfer.

Record came up with an update a few minutes later, this time saying the offer was €65m, but confirming that it was rejected. Jornal de Notícias also says there’s been no deal reached.

This new meeting between Miguel Pinho and Frederico Varandas has been reported by various Portuguese media outlets on Wednesday. O Jogo said Bruno Fernandes already has an agreement to join Tottenham, as long as the clubs can find a deal for his transfer.
