The Spanish media insist that Barcelona haven’t yet agreed a deal to sign Antoine Griezmann, despite the player announcing he’s leaving Atletico Madrid.
This allows them to continue linking other forwards with the club, something they can’t really do once the Frenchman is signed.
Mundo Deportivo aren’t wasting this opportunity, and on Thursday lunchtime they link three, one from Manchester United and two from Arsenal.
Technically, that’s true, but the Premier League club has an option to extend by a further year, which is quite a crucial point to leave out.
Then it’s on to Arsenal.
Alexandre Lacazette is on the list, along with his teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Mundo say Real Madrid ‘seem willing’ to spend big on the latter, although they may have got that claim from elsewhere.
All three players mentioned are versatile in their position, something which attracts Barcelona. If the Griezmann option fails, it’s stated Barca are prepared to go to Plan B.
