The future of Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci was a big talking point during the summer transfer window.
Manchester City were reportedly keen on signing the Italian international. The Premier League giants even made a €60m offer for the Italian defender to Juventus, and offered the player a contract worth €8m per season, after tax.
The 29-year-old is now reportedly negotiating a new contract with Juventus, because he is keen to stay in Turin.
According to Italian website Tutto Mercato Web, Juventus are in advanced negotiations with Bonucci over the new contract. Calciomercato say Juventus want to send a clear signal to the requests from the Premier League for the player, with Manchester United now named as the club keen on signing him.
It’s a little early to say if Manchester United would be keen on signing Bonucci in the future transfer window, they have been linked before, but perhaps them displacing City in the rumour has a lot to do with the derby.
