Celtic forward Luis Palma has been urged to find himself a club that will give him more minutes, even if it means leaving the Scottish giants.
Diario La Prensa have comments from Honduras president Jorge Salomón in which he admits players like Palma need to be playing regularly to ensure they’re at their best for their nation.
Palma has endured a difficult season for Celtic so far, with just seven appearances in all competitions to date totalling 183 minutes.
He appears to have fallen out of favour under Brendan Rodgers, a strange turnaround for a player who managed 12 goals and 13 assists in 41 games in all competitions for Celtic last season.
That’s not stopped Palma being a regular for his country so far, playing in recent clashes against Trinidad and Jamaica in September and then a double header against Mexico last month.
He remains one of the big stars for his nation and Salomón wants that to remain the case but believes a departure from Celtic may needed if Palma’s current situation continues and does not improve in the coming months.
“We hope that players like Palma can be lucky enough to be given more continuity either at Celtic or another team,” he said.
“He is a very polite, very dedicated boy, he loves the National Team, he takes care of himself personally, he is well involved in this matter.
“I hope he has the good fortune that the club he plays for can give him more playing time, which will be important for him and the growth of the national team. As well as others.”
