Aston Villa have a firm desire to sign Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara this summer.

Two months ago, the Premier League side sent a scout to Turkey to take a closer look at the 26-year-old.

His performances would have convinced Aston Villa to consider signing the Brazilian.

Last month, journalists Süleyman Rodop and Evren Göz talked about the Europa League winners’ offers, without providing any further information.

On May 30th, Sport Witness covered claims from Turkey that the midfielder responded positively after the Villans registered their interest. He’s waiting for them to make further advances.

Napoli battle for Aston Villa

The English club aren’t the only ones in the chase for the former Norwich City man.

That’s according to A Spor, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an update from journalist Nevzat Dindar.

He claims both Aston Villa and Napoli want to sign Gabriel Sara. Galatasaray, down their end, are expecting offers around €25-30m, which indicates they are open to selling him.

Hürriyet backs up Dindar’s claim and share additional updates on why the Istanbul club are looking to sell the South American.

The Turkish champions are considering parting ways with the player to raise funds to sign Juventus’ Khéphren Thuram.

Their plan is to sell Sara for around €30-35m and add another €5-10m to take the 25-year-old Frenchman away from the Turin club.

Aston Villa and Napoli are named as Sara’s suitors and the two clubs have followed him for a while. If the earlier claim of the player favouring Unai Emery’s is true, then they have an edge over the Naples club.

To sum it up, the Villans and the Serie A side are keen on Sara, who has a price tag of €25-35m.

Offers could be key for Sara

Gabriel Sara should make the final decision after evaluating every offer he will receive this summer.

He then has to consider the financial aspect and the sporting project.

The midfielder’s contract runs down in 2029 and is valued at €27m by Transfermarkt.
