It’s been a few weeks since Aston Villa started being heavily linked to Marseille midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, who’s expected to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer.
The French media has previously claimed that the Villans are ‘on pole’ position to land the 24-year-old, despite the competition there is for him.
An update on this situation is today brought by Mohamed Toubache-Ter, who, on Twitter, says Aston Villa remain well positioned in the race for the midfielder.
Still, Aston Villa are said to have ‘two major advantages’ in this battle. Those are the presence of Unai Emery, who previously managed the Frenchman at Arsenal, and also of Boubacar Kamara, who was a teammate of his at Marseille last year.
Now what the Villans must also be aware of is that the French club have a big request to make. Despite signing him from Arsenal for only €11m last summer, they’re now hoping to get €32m with his transfer.
