For the past few days, reports from Italy have discussed Aston Villa interest in Juventus’ Weston McKennie.
InterLive.it provide more details on the Villans’ interest in the midfielder and also about them looking at Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries.
The 24-year-old’s displays for the Turin club this season were enough to attract attention from Aston Villa. Unai Emery ‘likes the American very much’ and would like to have him at Villa Park.
It’s suggested Aston Villa are ‘trying to get serious’ for McKennie in January. Emery is looking to raise the quality of his squad, and, therefore he and Aston Villa are also ‘thinking’ of Dumfries.
Matty Cash and Ashley Young have been used on the right side of defence this season. Young, 37, has a deal until June and Emery’s side need to find his successor. It’s claimed Aston Villa ‘could at any moment start to project themselves’ on Dumfries.
Inter want €60m [with a suggestion €50m would be enough] for the Netherlands international, but Villa would hardly pay this even though they have the financial resources. The Dutchman, for his part, would only leave the San Siro for a top English club.
