On Monday, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà reported Aston Villa have made a €15m bid for Michael Kayode. He also said the Villans are expected to make a new attempt as their initial offer didn’t convince Fiorentina.
Aston Villa tabling an offer is relayed by Firenze Viola, who then provide the latest on this case.
The right-back has received ‘sirens’ from England where Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are said to be in the picture.
As well as the Premier League trio, Inter Milan have been credited with interest in the Italy U21 international. They will consider making an approach if Denzel Dumfries were to leave the San Siro.
Despite the sirens, Fiorentina intend to retain the youngster next season. It’s claimed he will only leave in the summer window if there’s an ‘indispensable’ offer.
Kayode’s deal lasts until 2028, and the report says the Serie A side won’t entertain any offers that are less than €30m.
Pedullà said Aston Villa have made a €15m offer, and taking the latest report into account, Unai Emery’s side need to double that to sign the fullback this summer.
Firenze Viola spoke to football agent Dario Canovi and when asked what Fiorentina have to do to improve, he urged them to hold on to Kayode.
“On the other hand, I wouldn’t sacrifice Kayode because in a few years he could be worth much more. The €15m offered by Aston Villa can be refused,” he said.
