Aston Villa loanee Samuel Iling-Junior scored a decisive goal for Bologna against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Englishman’s performance wasn’t his most impressive but he made a mark and helped his club to a massive win.

Despite that, doubts about Iling-Junior’s future have not gone away. If anything, they have only increased due to him gaining some added prominence in the aftermath of the match.

Quotidiano Sportivo have reported that while Bologna do not intend to let the 21-year-old depart, Iling-Junior himself is looking at the possibility of playing in the Premier League in the second half of the season. The player believes that the spotlight on him after his goal on Tuesday can help him move to a new club.

The report states that work is already underway at Aston Villa to satisfy the winger’s demands.

The Birmingham club are speaking to Iling-Junior’s agent and Bologna about the next move, as all the parties look to delve deeper into the issue at hand.

Although regulations state that a player can’t be registered for three different clubs in the same season, Aston Villa believe that this will not be a problem in their player’s case because he’s only actually appeared competitively for Bologna.
