Aston Villa have placed their first offer for Fiorentina fullback Michael Kayode, according to claims from Italy.
It’s revealed by journalist Alfredo Pedulla that the English club are trying to secure the signing with a bid worth €15m plus bonuses.
The report points out that Aston Villa director Monchi ‘really likes’ Kayode and is moving seriously for his signing this summer.
That’s not expected to be enough to sign the player, though, as Fiorentina are only set to consider offers above €20m, with bonuses on top of that.
That doesn’t mean the pursuit is over, though, as it’s already claimed that Aston Villa are expected to make a new attempt soon.
Pedulla points out that Monchi has already ‘unblocked the market’ when working with Juventus on the operation for Douglas Luiz, and he’s now said to be focused on ‘new talents’.
Kayode has already been linked to Aston Villa this month, and with other Premier League clubs also said to be interested in him, the Villans are making the first move.
They’ll likely have to make another one, though.
