Aston Villa ‘will return’ for Geoffrey Kondogbia in January after ‘unsuccessfully trying’ to sign the Atlético Madrid player in the last transfer window.
That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say the Villans are not ‘100% satisfied’ with the signings carried out in the summer.
Aston Villa want to bring in new faces to the club in the winter market following the arrival of Unai Emery and have their sights set on their old target.
Axel Witsel’s arrival at the Metropolitano saw the 29-year-old’s game time get restricted at the start of this season.
Kondogbia’s situation, however, has changed in weeks prior to the World Cup break, as he has made eight league starts so far.
Despite this change, the ex-Valencia man is one of the main assets for Los Rojiblancos to make cash.
Unai Emery’s side are in the picture, and it’s claimed they ‘could offer €25m’ to the La Liga side to try and secure his services.
With Aston Villa planing to make another attempt to sign Kondogbia, it remains to be seen whether he will be open to making a switch to Villa Park in January.
