Villarreal defender Juan Foyth missed training today with ‘discomforts’, while Aston Villa negotiate a potential transfer for him.
That’s according to AS, who say the defender continues to ‘drag physical problems’ with him while considering the offer from Aston Villa.
The newspaper explains that Villarreal are currently doing their preparations for the upcoming clash with Real Valladolid but are forced to do so without Juan Foyth and Dani Parejo.
The Argentine defender is currently missing from training thanks to ‘physical discomforts’ that prevented him from playing in the game against Atletico Madrid.
They were set to keep him out of group training anyway, but he is also considering an offer from Aston Villa, who have moved for him in the last few hours. Reports earlier today have stated that they’re in the final stages of negotiations with Villarreal for him.
The positive is that the current injury issue is not considered a serious one and the belief is that he will return to training in the next few days. It is because of these ‘discomforts’ why he sat out training, though, and not the Aston Villa interest. That’s at least according to AS.
We should point out this directly contradicts previous reports in which it was stated he sat out of training because he was waiting on news of the offer from Aston Villa.
Now he is suffering from ‘discomforts’, although there’s every chance they are the usual issues that randomly pop up when Premier League clubs become interested in a player and he doesn’t want to risk himself.
