Inter Milan have placed an offer for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to claims from the goalkeeper’s home country.

Argentine journalist Gastón Edul reports that the Nerazzurri, who’ve just sold André Onana to Manchester United, made a €15m bid for the player.

That’s now how much Aston Villa want from the sale, and that has already been rejected by Unai Emery’s side.

Still, Inter Milan are not expected to stop there, and are currently ‘thinking’ about making a higher bid.

It’s claimed that even though there has already been contact between the Nerazzurri and Martinez’s entourage, he’ll continue training normally during Aston Villa’s pre-season.

The goalkeeper has been surrounded by transfer rumours this summer, but according to Edul, it’s Inter Milan who are the most interested club and the ones who are actually engaged in talks for the move.

Aston Villa have Martinez protected in a contract until 2027, and he’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €28m. The story doesn’t say how much the Villans want to sell him this summer, but €15m was obviously never going to be enough.
