Aston Villa could target a move for Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries, and can satisfy the Italian side’s demands for a transfer.
That’s according to FC Inter News, who report the Dutchman could be on the move this summer and Aston Villa are a potential option.
Contacts between Dumfries, whose deal expires in 2025, and Inter Milan are expected in June to see if an understanding on a new agreement can be reached.
Until that point the defender’s future is in the air and his desire to earn €5m a year could prove to be a stumbling block, as Inter have no intention of paying such a figure.
Thus, he may be pushed towards the exit as a result and Aston Villa are waiting in the wings, flush with the cash from qualifying for the Champions League this season.
The belief is that they could satisfy Inter Milan’s demand for €30m for the player and match his wage demands too, although there is no negotiation underway at this moment in time.
They’re a name to keep an eye on moving forwards, though, particularly if Dumfries can’t secure a new agreement with Inter Milan.
