Arsenal have been warned that Ajax rising star Jorrel Hato could cost as much as €100m, thanks to his new contract at the Dutch club.
Soccer News cover comments from journalist Suleyman Ozturk today on the Ajax youngster, amid reports that Arsenal are interested in him ahead of the summer.
Several reports in the Netherlands have indicated that Arsenal are one of a list of clubs keeping an eye on Hato as he continues to impress for Ajax this season, despite an underwhelming campaign for the Dutch giants.
Indeed, a report today continued that trend, insisting they are in the mix and willing to go the furthest of his suitors in order to get him.
Voetbal International, though, explain that will be harder to do than before as the new deal Hato signed at Ajax recently does not include a release clause.
That means Ajax can negotiate from whatever price point they feel, with the youngster currently valued at around €22m but that figure sure to rise if he continues to develop as he has.
Indeed, he could become a much sought-after player on the market before too long, and Ozturk believes the likes of Arsenal could need to pay €100m or more.
“This is a player who represents a transfer value of €100m, if you think about the future. Perhaps he will be the first Ajax player to be sold for more than €100m,” he said when discussing the defender.
