Arsenal’s chances of signing Bayer Leverkusen forward Moussa Diaby in the summer may have been handed a boost as the player is ‘clearly leaning towards the Premier League’.

That’s according to SportBILD, who say a move to Real Madrid would ‘come as a surprise’ at the end of the season as forward ‘already has contracts’ in England regarding a transfer.

Diaby has been impressing in the Bundesliga again this season, with nine goals and eight assists in 29 games in the league, two goals in six in the Champions League and three goals and an assist in six games in the Europa League.

That has led to increased speculation about a move away from the club this summer, with Arsenal said to be among his suitors.

A report in April made it clear they were among the favourites for his signature this year, with that followed up by a claim that Leverkusen were open to a sale and Arsenal remained in the mix.

Real Madrid have since been added to the list of potential suitors, but SportBILD say that a move to the Bernabeu ‘would still come as a surprise’ despite his impressive numbers this season.

According to their information the forward ‘already has contacts’ in England and is believed to be ‘clearly leaning’ towards the Premier League should a transfer happen this summer.

That should come therefore as a boost for Arsenal if they’re genuinely interested in adding him to their forward line, or at the least, hand them the advantage if a transfer race with clubs from around Europe develops as expected.
