Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has hailed manager Mikel Arteta, insisting he has never had a coach like him in his career.
Arteta is currently establishing himself as one of the top up and coming coaches in Europe with Arsenal, who he has helped guide to the top of the Premier League.
A 3-2 win over Manchester United on Sunday kept their lead over Manchester City to five points and ensured another superb result in a stellar campaign thus far.
Arteta is very much the mastermind of the current success, having battled through an initial tough start at the Emirates to help establish an attractive playing style and rebuild the squad he inherited from Unai Emery.
Many are predicting a bright future under the Spaniard’s leadership, even if they are unable to maintain their title charge this season.
Arteta has long been backed to be a success in management after working under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and Xhaka insists he is “something very special”.
“Last season, we lost the first three games of the season,” he told 20 Min.
“Some people were already at the end of their patience. But now you see what can happen when you give a coach time. After all, this is his first ever stint as head coach. He is something very special.
“I’ve had many coaches in my career, but never one like Arteta. He seems like he is focused only on football 24 hours a day.
“He always has a plan A, B – and maybe even a plan Z. But he’s not only top tactically, but he’s also top as a person.”
