Aston Villa’s interest in Gerard Deulofeu was already confirmed by the Udinese player’s agent earlier this month.

A week ago, Gazzetta dello Sport stated the Serie A side could immediately give the forward to the Villans in the winter market. It was also explained his sale to Aston Villa would benefit all parties involved.

A part of this claim is echoed in today’s edition of the same newspaper, who also provide a fresh update on this case.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Watford man has a ‘rich offer’ of €4m per year from Unai Emery’s side ‘in hand’.

It’s further claimed the Premier League club are willing to offer the Italian side a fee around €20m to secure the Spaniard’s services.

Despite the proposal from Aston Villa, the report says Udinese would prefer to sell the 28-year-old after this season.

Gazzetta doesn’t specify Deulofeu’s stance on the possibility to join the English club in the current window.

Udinese Blog also state the proposal tabled by Aston Villa to sign Deulofeu hasn’t convinced the Serie A side, although they don’t provide the details of the offer made by the Premier League club.
