Arsenal are interested in a striker, and it’s not Gonzalo Higuain, Alexandre Lacazette or Mauro Icardi.

In fact, you’ve probably never heard of him.

According to Bild in Germany, the Premier League club are keeping an eye on Hoffenheim’s 19-year-old gem Philipp Ochs, who broke into the first-team late last season, starting six of his 14 appearances in the league.

Also a member of Germany’s U19s, the forward, who can play anywhere across the front three, recently scored a hat-trick for his country as they lost 4-3 to Portugal during the U19 European Championships.

The German newspaper say Arsenal scouts have been very impressed with the youngster, to the extent where they have a ‘crush’ on him.

The player refused to comment on speculation while at the tournament, while his agent wasn’t surprised by the attention, saying he’d received a lot even prior to the international competition with strong performances at club level.

As for juicy information about a potential move, he refused to give anything away as he’d never done so before and wouldn’t start now.
