Gazzetta dello Sport have today published an article with the headline: ‘Rabiot, where are you going now? Many are looking for him, Real, Atletico and Arsenal in pole position’

Claims around the midfielder seem endless at the moment but there’s a key difference to this one, the Italian newspaper have spoken to Veronique Rabiot, Adrien’s mother and agent.

Now you would naturally suspect that aside from the words she directly shared to be published, there may have been some further information shared off record, leading Gazzetta to throw those three clubs in as being in pole position.

Arsenal have been linked with the Frenchman previously, heavily earlier in his career, but they’re not one of the Premier League clubs who have been linked the most in recent weeks.

Rabiot’s contract with Juventus expired at the end of June and despite the best efforts of the Turin club they couldn’t get him to sign a renewal.

Back to Veronique, Gazzetta quote her as saying: “It’s true, I’m talking to some clubs. And I’m the only contact. In fact, I am talking to certain clubs, but then some media attribute to me contacts with other teams that I do not speak to. So I suppose that other people speak for me. But since the beginning of Adrien’s career I have been the only interlocutor with the clubs, and if a club has any interest they must speak directly to me.”

The Italian newspaper also say the free agent wants Champions League football, something Arsenal and the other two clubs named can provide.
