Reiss Nelson is on the verge of leaving Arsenal, reports Bild on Wednesday.
The 18 year old had been rumoured to be interesting Hoffenheim, and the German newspaper say the deal is almost done.
Arsenal and the Bundesliga club broadly agree on the transfer, which will be a loan for the rest of the season, and now it’s the player’s side needing to be finalised.
Bild explain that given Nelson’s contract was due to expire in June 2019, meaning he would have been able to leave for free after a loan, Arsenal have moved to extend it before agreeing anything with Hoffenheim.
Nelson is considered ‘one of the greatest talents’ in English football, as far as Bild are concerned, and there’s clearly some excitement around the transfer.
Hoffenheim were thought to be closed in the transfer market, but kept the option of a last minute move open if an opportunity presented itself, and that looks to be the case.
