Prior to Arsenal’s clash against Luton Town tonight, ESPN Brasil features an interview with Gunners’ defender Gabriel Magalhães.
With Mikel Arteta’s side currently standing on top of the Premier League table, the centre-back talked about the team’s good form and the importance of taking step by step before thinking of a potential title.
“We’re going through a very good moment and the quality of the team is also very good. Everyone is focused on the same goal. We have to keep our feet on the ground. We know it’s a very long and difficult league. We know that if we keep our feet on the ground, things will happen,” Gabriel Magalhães told ESPN Brasil.
“We have to keep doing what we’re doing, which is battling game after game. It’s too early for us to talk about the title, but Arsenal are in the fight.”
Magalhães was also asked about Mikel Arteta, and only had nice things to say about the Arsenal boss.
“Since I arrived I’ve learnt a lot and grown a lot in terms of professionalism and in my personal life too. He’s a coach who wants us to be learning and improving every day. I’m very happy to be working with him. In the three years I’ve been here at Arsenal, I’ve learnt from him every day.”
Arsenal are going through a series of away games, as following the Luton Town match tonight, they visit Aston Villa at the weekend, and then prepare for the Champions League’s final group fixture against PSV in Eindhoven.
As the Gunners already guaranteed the top of Group B in the European competition, they can stay solely focused on staying on top of the Premier League table for the coming weeks.
Gabriel Magalhães continues to be one of Mikel Arteta’s trusted main in defence, and already has 20 appearances for the club this season. The Brazilian recently reached his peak Transfermarkt valuation, as it now stands at €55m.
