The Italian media continues to talk about the race for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson.

It was first TuttoMercatoWeb who, this week, claimed that even though the Gunners wouldn’t like to lose the player for free this summer, a couple of Serie A sides are quite keen on signing him as a free agent.

Now it’s Il Giorno who comes up with a story about Atalanta’s interest in the Arsenal player.

The outlet first highlights that the operation should ‘not be easy’, since ‘half of Europe’ is keeping an eye on the 23-year-old.

Even though Arsenal may be hopeful that the player would take a contract extension and give up on leaving for free, Il Giorno brings a different view.

They point out that with the little playing time Nelsson has been getting with the Gunners, he actually is ‘looking’ for a new opportunity in Serie A or La Liga.

Atalanta have Lee Congerton as their director of football, and his eye to the British market is said to be the reason why they are ‘ready’ to make an attempt for this signing.

Since his return from a loan at Feyenoord last summer, Nelson has three goals and three assists in 12 appearances for Arsenal this season.
