Following the arrival of Vincent Kompany at Burnley, the Turf Moor fan base have seen previously unknown players arrive at the club with great results.

That is a testament to the work behind the scenes at the club, and there’s hope this will continue over the next few years, as the club will be fighting to stay in the Premier League.

One of the areas that could need work is at the back, where Foot Mercato report that Burnley are interested in FC Zürich’s Becir Omeragic.

They explain the 21-year-old, who was in the first draft of Switzerland’s squad list for the World Cup, has attracted a lot of attention around Europe.

It’s claimed two unnamed French clubs are on the case, but the outlet does name Hoffenheim, Augsburg, Burnley and Braga as other teams interested in the player.

What makes this potential transfer even better for Burnley is that Omeragic’s contract with the Swiss side expires in the summer, meaning he can currently be approached for a potential free transfer.

One to keep an eye on.
