Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães is still doubtful for Brazil’s upcoming friendlies.
The national team have matches against Mexico and the United States before the Copa America, and according to UOL, there’s a little dispute to see who’s taking his place.
The outlet claims that with Magalhães being a doubt, Gleison Bremer is the favourite in the fight against Lucas Beraldo and Eder Militão to get a place alongside Marquinhos in defence.
The whole story means the Arsenal player is expected to be a starter at the Copa America, as long as he’s fit to keep his place.
The centre-back picked up a shoulder injury in the league’s last match against Everton, and is now racing against the clock to get fit in time for the tournament.
The Brazilian media already made it clear that the national team are not that concerned about him being fit for the friendlies, as they actually need him for the Copa America.
For Brazil, that tournament starts on June 24th against Costa Rica, and the Arsenal defender will surely be doing his best to be ready by then.
