Premier League trio Arsenal, Newcastle United and West Ham United are keeping a close eye on Midtjylland talent Gustav Isaksen.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say the three clubs could end up competing with AC Milan for the youngster’s signature.

They report that the Rossoneri’s management of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara ‘like the player a lot’ and watched Midtjylland’s clash with Lazio in the Europa League last with interest.

Isaksen impressed in that game, bagging the opening goal of the game in an eventual 2-1 win for the Italian side.

He’s long been in the sight of the Milan hierarchy, who have shown a focus on young talent over the last few years.

They’re not the only ones watching him, though, with Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham, all having him ‘in their sights’.

It’s the first time the Gunners and the Magpies have been linked, but the Hammers were busy scouting Midtjylland earlier this month and it is likely that Isaksen was the focus of their attention.

Milan are aware of this interest and believe they need to move quickly to secure a deal, with Midtjylland unlikely to settle for anything less than €20m.

That’s a fee Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham can all afford if they want to, and it will be interesting to see if anyone turns this monitoring into something more concrete in the near future.
