Earlier this month, Calciomercato explained that Tottenham Hotspur are interested to sign Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

It was also explained the north London club tried signing the 22-year-old towards the end of the summer window.

Tottenham’s interest in the custodian is backed up by TuttoMercatoWeb, as Spurs are tagged in a report that discusses the possibility of Los Ches player replacing Wojciech Szczęsny at Juventus.

Juve have the Georgia international’s name in their target list. His displays for the La Liga side have attracted attention from several clubs across Europe, including Antonio Conte’s side.

With regards to Tottenham, TMW state they have ‘carried out enquiries’ for the keeper and could think of him as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris.

A month ago, the Georgian signed a new deal until 2027 and it includes a €100m release clause. Despite this, Valencia, for their part, value him around €25-30m.

Mamardashvili, who has been a regular under Gennaro Gattuso this term, is described as a ‘physically structured goalkeeper (197 cm), with a left foot, skilled between goalposts and with a good personality’.

Having ‘carried out enquiries’ for the Valencia keeper, it needs to be seen whether Spurs will make an offer to sign Mamardashvili in January or next summer, as someone will need to come in at Tottenham to eventually replace Lloris.
