Transfer news wise, it’s been a bit quiet for Arsenal, but saving the day was an Alex Iwobi interview, some loan complaints, and Olivier Giroud’s resurgence at the weekend.

Iwobi opens up about uncle Okocha and playing for Nigeria

ESPN in Brazil had a nice sit down chat with the Arsenal forward over the weekend.

The 20-year-old discussed the ‘weird’ moment Jay-Jay Okocha asked for his shirt, considering who he is and the fact he grew up idolising him.

He also talked about his Nigeria call-ups and playing in front of the home crowd, and how being an Arsenal player has already helped him win their hearts, mostly because of Nwankwo Kanu.

Joel Campbell isn’t very happy at Sporting

Currently on loan with the Portuguese club, the Costa Rican winger is, despite coming off the bench, not a regular starter, and that’s annoying him a bit.

Unfortunately for him, he’s being blocked on the right wing by Gelson Martins, and O Jogo have a chat with his former Costa Rica manager to find out a decent solution for the 24-year-old.

P.S: It involves a position change.

Arsenal share transfer target with Spurs and Liverpool

There was a small tidbit of transfer rumour in the Arsenal world, and it came from Il Messaggero, who claimed Wenger is keeping an eye on Lorenzo Insigne’s situation.

The player is currently struggling a bit at Napoli, and contract talks aren’t going great either, meaning there’s an opening somewhere for a Premier League club.

It’s all a bit vague for now, but, knowing the Italian press, this will grow in the next few weeks.

All the details, numbers, and more can be found here.

And finally, Olivier Giroud scored goals

With his team struggling to find the back of the net for a second time against a stubborn Sunderland, Arsène Wenger decided enough was enough and threw on Olivier Giroud to batter down David Moyes’ wall.

Two goals and 21 minutes later, and Arsenal walk away from the Stadium of Light with a 4-1 win and a player included in Gazzetta dello Sport’s team of the week.

If you want to find out what rating he was given, and who joined him, you can do so here.
