Arsenal have made move for signing ‘in recent days’ – Gunners initiate contact to learn possibilities of transfer

Sergiño Dest has no intention of leaving Barcelona this summer amid interest shown by Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and AS Monaco.

That’s according to Sport, who add the 20-year-old ‘has it clear: Barça, Barça and only Barça’.

It’s claimed that ‘in recent days’, the Gunners, along with BVB and the Ligue 1 side, made moves to sign the fullback and these clubs looked at the ‘real possibilities of seducing’ the player.

Mikel Arteta’s side, Dortmund and Monaco even made the American aware of their desire to acquire his services, but the former Ajax star was firm in his decision to turn down the approaches that were made for him.

Dest, who arrived at the Camp Nou from the Eredivisie side in 2020, remains ‘focused’ on continuing his development with the Catalan club, where he has the confidence of his manager, Ronald Koeman.

These factors mean the player has not even considered some of the offers he received, which were economically better than what he’s currently earning at Barcelona.
