Following the reports about Arsenal’s summer bid to sign Danilo from Palmeiras, the Gunners continue to be named as contenders to land the midfielder in the January window.

An update on the 21-year-old’s situation is today featured by journalist Jorge Nicola, who brings the news about Monaco’s interest in the player.

It’s said the French club made a ‘formal’ approach willing to spend €22m on his signing, while Palmeiras’ request is of €25m.

Nicola then points out that Danilo should receive offers from other clubs, ‘especially in England’, and that’s where Arsenal are mentioned again.

It’s claimed there’s ‘a lot of interest’ from the Gunners in signing the player, and it looks like a matter of waiting and see if an offer will be made.

Back in the summer, reports from Brazil claimed Arsenal’s offer had been of €25m, but the scenario was different at the time, since Palmeiras were in the middle of the season and didn’t want to lose one of their most important players.

Since this seems to be the exact price tag they have on Danilo now, perhaps the Gunners could just repeat the bid and get the signing done.
