Already trying to sign Donyell Malen in the past, Liverpool are looking to do so again in the near future if the latest from Germany is to be believed.
This comes from Patrick Berger for Sky Germany, who took to X, formerly Twitter, to reveal that both the Reds and Arsenal are ‘interested’ in the Dutch forward.
He explains the player ‘wants to leave’ Borussia Dortmund in the summer and a departure ‘is expected’, with the Bundesliga side ‘open to selling’ their player for a fee of around €40-50m.
While Manchester United have been linked in the past, it’s said they are not a ‘hot topic’ at this moment in time, leaving a clear path for those who are interested, such as Arsenal and Liverpool.
What is interesting in this is that Malen knows the Gunners very well, having played in their youth teams before heading back to Holland.
He even recently said that he would love a chance of returning to Arsenal to prove himself, although we’re sure he also wouldn’t say no to Liverpool, where he could end up teaming up with Cody Gakpo, who joined from PSV Eindhoven in January of 2023.
One to keep an eye on, as Malen has 13 goals and five assists in 33 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund this season.
