With Arsenal managing to dig themselves into a very strange hole these days following the Granit Xhaka outburst and a rather disappointing run of form, questions are being asked about Unai Emery’s future.

The Spaniard succeeded Arsène Wenger at the Emirates, but things haven’t really evolved and there is some talk about him being moved on sooner rather than later.

Should that decision be made, a number of candidates would likely become immediate favourites to take over, including Patrick Vieira.

Currently at Nice, the former Arsenal midfielder is enjoying some success in Ligue 1, although a trophy remains out of his reach for the time being.

In the meantime, Wenger, who has been without a managerial job since leaving the London side, has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, who recently parted ways with Niko Kovać.

Ahead of a midweek game against Bordeaux, Vieira was asked during a press conference to give his thoughts on whether his former mentor would be suited for the Bundesliga side.

He said, relayed by L’Equipe: “It would be a really good thing. Arsène showed at Arsenal that he’s capable of building something, winning titles. Regarding his personality, regarding his vision of football, Bayern Munich and Arsène would be something rather good, I think”.
