Two months ago, we covered a claim from Italy that Arsenal are keen on Juventus’ Dušan Vlahović and could make an approach for him in the winter market.
Fast forward to December and TV Play now state the Gunners ‘could launch an assault’ to sign the 23-year-old.
Arsenal are currently second in the table, two points behind leaders Liverpool, and Mikel Arteta has requested a new striker to help the north London club compete for the title this season.
Arteta has identified the Serbia international as a target but it won’t be easy for the north London club to carry out a potential deal.
That’s because of the gap in supply and demand between the two clubs. It’s claimed Juve technical director Cristiano Giuntoli values the former Fiorentina man at €60m while the Gunners wouldn’t want to pay more than €40m.
Despite the difference, TV Play say the ‘game is far from over’, suggesting that Arsenal may reduce the gap with the Old Lady.
Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah are currently Arsenal’s top goalscorers in the league with five goals, and Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard are behind the duo with four goals each.
Arteta has identified Vlahović as his preferred target, and the Serbian has managed six goals and two assists from 15 games this season.
