Stade Rennais’ Ibrahim Salah has ended up on Arsenal’s transfer agenda, according to a report from Morocco.
Operating mainly on the left wing, and at times as a left wing-back and as a striker, he has scored four goals from 15 games this season.
Salah joined the Ligue 1 side from KAA Gent in January and has made a handful of starts for Rennes. That hasn’t stopped Arsenal and other clubs from setting their sights on him.
According to Le360 Sport, the Gunners ‘would be interested’ in the versatile player, so much so that they have ‘sent emissaries’ to watch him live in action ‘during a recent appearance’ for the French club.
The Moroccan would have been approached by ‘several clubs’ in the last window, including Lille, Valencia and an unnamed Belgian club.
Le360 Sport doesn’t specify whether Mikel Arteta’s side have made contact or intend to make one anytime soon to sign Salah. There’s also no indication if he would be willing to leave his current employer in the coming windows.
Salah’s deal lasts until 2028 and Transfermarkt value him at €5m. If Arsenal were to go ahead with his signing, they would be in line for a cheap deal.
