As always, Arsenal have their eye on the market for any talented player they can get their hands on, with France remaining a preferential scouting area for them.
That’s what L’Equipe are hinting at on Tuesday, as they explain the Gunners are one of the many clubs interested in Jean-Mattéo Bahoya.
The 18-year-old is currently at Angers SCO in Ligue 2, where he has impressed greatly despite being more of an impact player from the bench, catching the eye of Arsenal in the process.
His five goals and two assists in 19 appearances in the league haven’t gone unnoticed, and there’s a good chance he leaves for a bigger club in the near future.
The French newspaper recall that AC Milan have been tracking him for the best part of two years, but there are also the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart after him.
On top of that, Arsenal and an unnamed Ligue 1 side are ‘attentive’ to his development.
As things stand, Angers have yet to receive a ‘concrete offer’ from any club, but some clubs have made ‘advances in the last few hours’ and an exit as early as January ‘isn’t to be excluded’ for a young player under contract until 2026.
