While Arsenal are topping the Premier League these, those behind the scenes aren’t resting on their laurels, clearly thinking about the future of the club.
We’ve seen the Gunners linked with a number of young players over the years, and when the opportunity appears to sign one on a free, the London club are normally there.
This is happening once again, with Barcelona looking on helplessly as two of their talents from La Masia are preparing an exit this summer on free transfers, according to Sport.
The newspaper explain the first, Victor Barberá, is already halfway to Bruges, while Ilias Akhomach is expected to head to the Premier League.
Leeds have been often linked with the latter, with a recent report labelling them as the favourites still, but Arsenal are there, and they are ready to fight.
We say this because Sport describe the Elland Road side and the Gunners as the ‘strongest candidates’ to sign the 18-year-old on a free this summer.
AC Milan and Sevilla are also there, it seems, but the general consensus is that if he is to leave Barcelona, Akhomach will go to England, where Arsenal are already plotting their move.
