Liverpool’s move for Federico Chiesa came after the Italian was linked with the likes of Inter Milan and Napoli in the summer.
The cut-price deal for the Reds hasn’t worked yet, with Arne Slot having already spoken of Chiesa’s issues around adaptation to the English game and the winger’s fitness worries.
The Liverpool boss made it clear that Chiesa is still getting to grips with the intensity of the Premier League and also stated that he feels ‘sorry’ for the ex-Juventus man.
After all that, there is now increasing drama in Italy and a growing rumours that Chiesa could leave Liverpool prematurely.
InterLive report today that Chiesa could become an opportunity for Inter and if things don’t turn around for the Azzurri man quickly, a return to Italy would become a concrete possibility.
Inter’s main target is Jonathan David but signing him will not be easy. That is why Chiesa’s name could come into fashion, with Beppe Marotta said to be a fan of the player.
The feeling is that due to the player’s versatility, Chiesa could become a ‘tactical weapon’ for Simone Inzaghi. He could be used up-front or at wing-back, taking Inzaghi’s set-up to the next level.
Of course, this is all getting ahead of itself and the player has plenty of time to prove himself at Liverpool.
