Jhon Jáder Durán’s agent has travelled to Birmingham to meet with Aston Villa to talk about the striker being a part of Colombia’s squad for the U-20 World Cup.
That’s according to journalist Pipe Sierra, who say a decision has not yet been made about the striker’s participation in the tournament.
The U-20 World Cup is set to kick off in Argentina later this month, something which has caused issues with clubs around Europe who don’t want to release players before the end of the season.
That has certainly been the case with Aston Villa and Durán, with it made clear that Unai Emery doesn’t want to let him leave and him being in Colombia’s squad was ‘practically impossible’.
It seems a decision has not been made as yet, though, with Sierra reporting that his agent, Jonathan Herrera, has travelled to Birmingham for talks with the Villans.
According to his information, the final word will be had by the club and, at the moment, they have neither accepted him going or ruled it out either.
It seems the decision is very much Aston Villa’s and Unai Emery’s to make, although Durán’s agent travelling to England at least indicates his stance on the matter.
