There’s been so many claims around Taty Castellanos this summer that it’s best to take reports around the Lazio player with a pinch of salt. It would appear clear there’s an attempt to hype Premier League interest in the 26-year-old, whether that’s to try and find a new club or to pressure Lazio into a good renewal.

Burnley are the latest club to be linked, but back in May it was West Ham, Wolves and Nottingham Forest said to be keen. Then Everton were pulled into the picture this month, and now it’s the turn of the Clarets.

Sunday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports the player’s agent showed up at Lazio’s headquarters around ten days ago to try and start talks over a move to the Premier League.

He wasn’t carrying a formal offer, but rather he expressed interest from Burnley. The agent was subsequently informed Lazio require €40m to part ways with the forward.

Burnley may feel that’s too much for the Argentine striker, who scored 14 goals last season.
