On May 7th, we covered claims from Italy that Napoli star Victor Osimhen would prefer a move to Arsenal or Chelsea in the summer window.
Later that month, Il Mattino stated the Blues have failed to work out a deal with the Serie A side, and this has opened the door for the Gunners to sign Osimhen.
The striker would be favouring Arsenal over Chelsea if Il Roma, relayed by CalcioNapoli24, is to be believed.
It’s claimed Osimhen isn’t expected to change clubs until July, without providing a reason for this. His preference is to move to the Premier League, where Chelsea seemed to have ‘slipped away’.
Mikel Arteta’s side are an option as Il Roma state the Nigeria international’s agent ‘has spoken to Arsenal’.
Over the past few months, various claims from Italy have said the 25-year-old’s clause varies between €120m and €130m. Il Roma make no mention of any figures or whether Arsenal are willing to spend big to secure a blockbuster deal.
The likelihood is Napoli are going to have drop the price significantly.
