On March 14th, we covered claims from Italy that Loris Karius will leave Newcastle United when his contract expires at the end of this season.
It was also stated the 30-year-old has given a mandate to former Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio, who is an agent now, to find a new club for him in the summer.
Tuesday’s edition of AS has published an interview with Marchisio and one of the topics he talked about was the Newcastle stopper.
Marchisio, along with Alessandro Tocci, has started an agency called Circum, and their client list includes the former Liverpool man.
When asked about Karius, the agent insisted that he needs to play regular football. The German has been restricted to two appearances since he joined the Magpies on a free transfer in 2022.
“We know his story, Loris is a guy who still has a lot of desire to play and show his talent. He has been labelled for that mistake, but he was not the only player to make a mistake in a big game,” he said.
The Newcastle player has already dropped a strong hint he could be open to making a switch to Italy in the summer. Last Thursday, Karius’ fiancée Diletta Leotta suggested he should consider moving to Monza or Como.
