The agent of Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson has spoken to the Italian media about his client’s feelings for the Serie A club.

Ferguson signed for the Italian club from Aberdeen in 2023 and this week he captained Bologna to their first major trophy for over 50 years.

Speaking to Tutto Mercarto, Bill McMurdo was asked how Ferguson felt about Bologna following his transfer from Aberdeen.

McMurdo said the Scotland international has nothing but love for the club and now considers it his second home.

“Lewis now considers Bologna his second home. He has two daughters born in Bologna and is very proud of this. He is a true son of Bologna at heart! He loves the team, the fans and the city,” said the player’s agent.

Ferguson started his professional career at Hamilton, but it was with Aberdeen that the 25-year-old started to make a name for himself. He spent four seasons at Pittodrie and after making 169 appearances for the Scottish club he signed for Bologna.

Since arriving in Emilia-Romagna Ferguson has gone from strength to strength, becoming one of Bologna’s key players. His performances in Serie A has helped him establish himself for Scotland, but a knee injury ruled him out of last summer’s Euros.

He’s made 88 appearances and scored 14 goals since joining Bologna.
