As you might recall, following the injury to Christian Eriksen, Manchester United were desperately looking for a new midfielder.
They eventually settled on loaning Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich, but he wasn’t the only player the Red Devils looked at.
Among the players approached by Manchester United was Sofyan Amrabat, who had just come off a fantastic World Cup with Morocco and was a target for many clubs, with his agent telling Kora Plus some more about it.
However, Fiorentina were adamant they weren’t interested in letting him go, and the player eventually stayed put to finish the season in Italy.
His brother previously explained that Manchester United were among the interested parties, and now his agent, Mohammed Sinouh, speaking to the outlet, confirmed a move from Erik ten Hag’s side.
He said: “Yes, we received more than one offer during the last winter transfer period, and on top of that was an offer from Manchester United, but the negotiations were not completed at the time.”
However, should the Red Devils still be interested in the summer, they would have a better chance at getting their man.
Sinouh explained: “At the moment, we don’t have any offers for the exit of Sofyan Amrabat, but Fiorentina welcomes the player’s departure in the summer, especially after obtaining a promise from the club president to do so when he rejected the offers in the winter transfer period.”
The 26-year-old has been key to Fiorentina’s plans this season, making 38 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side.
