Unlikely to stay at Chelsea beyond the current season since the club don’t want to give him the three-year contract he wants, Willian is looking elsewhere to continue his career.

That being said, he probably won’t be going far if the latest news out of France is to be believed, as the Brazil international is getting closer to Arsenal.

France Football are the ones reporting it, publishing an article on Monday afternoon claiming that the chances of seeing him playing under Mikel Arteta next season are ‘thickening’.

It’s said Arsenal are ‘pushing’ to sign Willian, who was also approached by Real Madrid and Manchester United.

However, it’s the Gunners who ‘clearly have the advantage’, as they made the ‘best contract offer’ to compensate for their lack of Champions League next season.

The FA Cup winners are reported to be offering Willian a three-year deal, which is what he wants, and is better than the two years both Madrid and United sent him.

However, the Brazilian is also pushing to get an option to extend for an extra year.
