Hull City have identified Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson as a transfer target.

The centre-back lost prominence at the Turkish club and has been out on loan since the start of 2025.

After a spell at AS Roma, he joined Hellas Verona in August 2025, on loan with an option to buy.

Hellas Verona dropped out of Serie A after finishing 19th, and the 27-year-old is unlikely to continue with them. Hull City can open their door for the defender this summer.

The Tigers secured promotion to the Premier League and are working on strengthening Sergej Jakirović’s squad.

For defence, the Denmark international is a target and Hull City owner Acun Ilıcalı is leading the pursuit.

Hull City want Galatasaray player

The English club are keen on bringing Victor Nelsson to the MKM Stadium this summer. That’s according to Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük, relayed by Haber Sarı Kırmızı.

Küçük analysed the surprise development around the Galatasaray player and Hull City’s interest for YouTube channel, Dici Futbol. He claims the Tigers want the Dane and Acun Ilıcalı is carry out the negotiations.

“Galatasaray is asking for €10m in transfer fee for Nelsson. Acun Ilıcalı is continuing his negotiations with both coach Okan [Buruk] and the management,” he said.

Haber Sarı Kırmızı, after relaying the journalist’s quotes, insist this is a ‘surprising transfer negotiation’ for the defender.

Tottenham Hotspur wanted to bring him to the Premier League in 2023. In July of that year, Sport Witness relayed news that Spurs offered €15m plus Davinson Sánchez but the Istanbul club turned it down.

At that time, this didn’t please Nelson, who was keen on joining Spurs. Since then, there were several claims linking him to different English clubs.

Contract situation favours Hull City

Victor Nelsson’s contract with the Turkish champions expires in 2027 and Transfermarkt values him at €6m.

This may force Galatasaray to sell this summer, to avoid losing him for free next year.

Hull City can take advantage of this to try and sign the Dane for less than €10m.
