One of the first big names to come through the door after Antonio Conte was appointed as Tottenham’s manager was Dejan Kulusevski.
The Swedish forward arrived in some sort of double deal with Rodrigo Bentancur, with both players being sent away by Juventus for some much needed money.
Since then, both have established themselves as household names in London, with the winger commenting on the current situation at Tottenham in an interview with Fotbollskanalen.
Asked about Conte’s near untenable position at Spurs, he said: “We have to see what happens first. Right now, he’s still there and we all have to take that into account. I don’t know what it will be, but as in life, things change. Then you have to be ready for change, and life will still go on.”
While Bentancur was sold outright to Tottenham, his teammate wasn’t, loaned for 18 months instead with a view to a permanent deal.
Considering the deal was put together by Fabio Paratici, who advocated for the hiring of Antonio Conte in the first place, there has been talk that the Italian manager leaving could affect Kulusevski’s chances of staying in London.
That, however, isn’t the case, as explained by the player himself when asked if his manager’s situation ‘affects the club’s option to buy’ him: “No, no. Absolutely not.”
As for whether he wants to stay at Tottenham and the Premier League, he said, with a smile: “Absolutely, that’s right.”
